3RD GLOBAL MOVE FROM CIMSA IN 3 YEARS

Cimsa, one of the Sabanci Group companies that has successfully implemented the three-legged transformation strategy defined as "From Cement to Building Materials", "From Local to Global" and "From Gray to Green", purchased 94.7 percent of the shares of Ireland-based Mannok Holdings DAC, one of Europe's most important building materials manufacturer.

Cimsa, one of the Sabancı Holding Material Technologies Group companies, continues its efforts to strengthen its global footprint with inorganic growth steps. Cimsa, which strengthened its position in the white cement field with the Spain-based Bunol it acquired in 2021, took an important step to expand its global production network with the US investment announced in 2023. Continuing its international investments to diversify its production geography, expand its product portfolio, and strengthen its local and global supply chain, Cimsa has reached an agreement to acquire Mannok Holdings DAC (Mannok), one of Ireland's and Europe's leading building materials manufacturers.

Mannok, which has more than 50 years of experience in the European market, operates in two main business lines: building materials and packaging products. Headquartered in the Republic of Ireland and one of the companies with the widest product range in the field of building materials in the United Kingdom, Mannok produces and sells manufactures cement, cement-based products (such as tiles, precast, concrete), insulation materials and recycled plastic packaging.

Cimsa turned into a global building materials company

While underlining that Cimsa has strengthened its global footprint with the steps it has taken in recent years, Sabanci Holding CEO Cenk Alper said, "We are etremely happy that our group companies embrace the vision we have put forward as the Sabanci of the World and continue to 'run without limits' in production and innovation. Cimsa is one of our prominent companies in this race. Until recently, Cimsa was defined as one of Turkiye's exporting cement companies; it has now turned into a global building materials company with its 'beyond cement' investments in countries such as Spain, the USA and Germany. Mannok investment will be one of the important parts of this transformation."

Cimsa CEO Umut Zenar stated that the gray cement facility located in Mannok will be Cimsa's first gray cement facility outside Turkiye and said: "Especially in terms of technology transfer, our Mannok facility and our production centers in Turkiye will act in great synergy; there will be collaboration and cooperation in the use of different technologies, especially the use of alternative fuels."
