The works deemed worthy of participating in the exhibition titled "Quo Vadis / Where Are You Going" organized within the scope of the II. International Ceramics Biennial Bursa have been announced. Omer Gorkem's work titled "Loop" was deemed worthy of the Turkish Ceramics Federation Award worth 50 thousand TL.
The works deemed worthy of participating in the exhibition titled "Quo Vadis / Where Are You Going" organized within the scope of the II. International Ceramics Biennial Bursa have been announced. Following the evaluation made by the International Selection Committee, 55 works were selected to be exhibited. Omer Gorkem's work titled "Loop" was deemed worthy of the Turkish Ceramics Federation Award worth 50 thousand TL. The international selection committee, which evaluated the works digitally, consisted of Beril Anilanmert, Fatma Batukan Belge, Guangzhen Zhou, Ilhan Marasali, Mutlu Baskaya, Sayumporn Kasornsuwan, Vilma Villaverde, Xavier Monsalvatje and Zehra Cobanli.
Omer Gorkem, who received the TSF Award, took part in many national and international artistic events and exhibitions. The artist has six awards, two of which are the achievement award in the ceramics branch of the State Painting and Sculpture Competition. Gorkem has been working as a Lecturer at Usak University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics since 2009.
Quo Vadis/Where Are You Going exhibition within the scope of the II. International Ceramics Biennial, which will be held between 24 October- 24 November, will be shown at Merinos Textile Industry Museum. Works to be exhibited will focus on these questions: “How does today's humanity shape the world? Can a person turn the future into a utopia by using his ability to find the truth? Is it possible to make life better for all humans - and even other living creatures - to live well here and now, and to concentrate on leaving a better world for the future?”
