THE WORLD’S FIRST RECYCLED SINK FROM VITRA

VitrA’s new environmentally friendly sink is the world's first and only 100% recycled ceramic sink. Thanks to sinks that give life to materials considered waste, the impact on global warming caused by the production process is reduced by 30% per product.

VitrA announced that it produced the world's first and only 100% recycled ceramic sink in its category. Approximately 100% of the content of the new environmentally friendly sinks is produced from waste generated and disposed of during the production process, including broken ceramics. Environmentally friendly bowl sinks, which were produced thanks to innovative solutions developed at the VitrA Production Campus in Bozuyuk, Bilecik, were first introduced at the last UNICERA Fair. Following the sinks designed in matte beige color and 5 shapes, new products and colors are planned to be added to VitrA's recycled product range.

The use of waste when producing Eczacibasi Yapi Gerecleri's environmentally friendly sinks reduces the global warming potential by 30%. By using less raw materials per product, it is aimed to save approximately 5 kg of raw materials with a 36% improvement and to save 2.48 Kwh of electricity with a 38% improvement.

“We are determined to maximize our contribution to the circular economy

Ozgen Ozkan, CEO of Eczacibasi Yapi Gerecleri, said that they have set a new standard in sustainable design in the ceramic industry with the sink that reflects VitrA's vision and leadership in sustainability and continued as follows: “In line with an innovative business model and circular design principles, we started to reuse the waste resulting from the production of ceramic sanitary ware in our own production process, instead of sending it as raw material to another factory. Thus, it is possible for us to protect natural resources and ecosystems, reduce environmental impact and carbon dioxide emissions, prevent increasing costs and overcome raw material constraints and risks. The 100% recycled sink represents our commitment to using fewer resources, minimizing waste and maximizing contribution to the circular economy.”
