Retired diplomat Kaya Turkmen also included the story of the 227 square meter mosaic wall made by Bedri Rahmi Eyüboglu in 1958 in his book titled "State Manners". Most parts of this wall, built by Eyuboglu for Expo 58, were lost over time.
The book “State Manners” by Kaya Turkmen, the third generation diplomat in his family, tells about the 38 years he served in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Among the memories of Turkmen, who describes what he saw in the countries he worked in and compares it with Turkiye, is the interesting story of Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu's Mosaic Wall.
The Turkish government attached great importance to Expo 58 held in Brussels and saw it as an opportunity to introduce the modern face of the country internationally. In the competition held for the Turkish pavilion, the project of the team consisting of Utarit Izgi, Muhlis Turkmen, Hamdi Sensoy and Ilhan Turegun won, and the mosaic wall to be included in the project was delivered to Bedri Rahmi Eyuboglu. The 60 meter long, 227 square meter wall was completed in the artist's studio in one year.

According to Turkmen, the wall purchased by the Istanbul Municipality arrived in Turkey during the May 27 coup and was left to its fate in a corner of Gulhane Park and forgotten for 20 years. In 1979, mayor Aytekin Kotil intervened in the situation, but it was understood that some of the mosaics changed hands and were given to different people. The interesting story of this important wall is told in full detail in Kaya Turkmen's book.
