Prof. Sevim Cizer explains the formation process of the community and the scope of the exhibition as follows: “Izmir Ceramic Solidarity Community was created after the great earthquake devastation experienced by our country on February 6, 2023, to provide education and rehabilitation support, especially for children in the earthquake zone, to the extent of the strength of its members and aims with all its strength. tried to make it happen. This group of artists, who came together for such a sad reason, decided to continue their solidarity and participate in cultural and artistic events. The aim of this exhibition, which is the group's first artistic project, was to bring together the graduates of Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Ceramics and Glass Design for thirty-seven years, and ceramic artists who have devoted themselves to Izmir. It is believed that the exhibition will constitute an example of cultural exchange and social solidarity activity in itself, in terms of bringing together one hundred artists with different approaches to ceramic materials, tendencies and perspectives, and exhibiting their works. Our aim and wish is to strengthen our social and cultural ties with the artistic projects we will create together in the future, to contribute to the cultural and artistic life of our city and to make this sustainable by experiencing the happiness of producing and sharing together.”
