VitrA Karo, invested in a new line that enables the production of larger and thinner wall tiles in its factory in Bozuyuk. Thanks to this investment, 2,205 tons of annual CO2 emissions due to fuel consumption will be prevented.
The line investment, which was implemented at the VitrA Production Campus in Bozuyuk, Bilecik, allows the production of large-sized wall tiles with a width of 2,700 millimeters and a length of 105 meters in a single firing.
The investment within the scope of renovation and completed in 6 months, enables VitrA Karo to produce all different types of products on the basis of wall tiles. On the new line, thin wall tiles with a thickness of 7 mm and dimensions of 30x90, 33x100 and 40x120 cm can be produced. VitrA's new wall collection Set7.0 series, which includes different textures, is compatible within itself and can be combined with each other and with different collections, also includes thin wall tiles. SET7.0 Emotion with its size of 40x120 cm and 7 mm thickness; creates an exclusive atmosphere with its design and rich use of special sparkling materials on a matte natural surface, adding an emotional atmosphere to the space. SET7.0 Motion, which is animated with geometric relief and leaf decorations with special sparkle effects, gives an industrial look to the place where it is applied with its 30x90cm size, 7 mm thickness and stylish decorations.
Investment that reduces carbon emissions
VitrA Karo CEO Hasan Pehlivan stated that they will respond to domestic and international demands by investing in large-sized and thin wall tiles and said, “With the new line we commissioned in our production facility, we increased the size of our tiles and reduced their thickness. More importantly, with our new energy-efficient and modern cooking oven, we will prevent 2,205 tons of CO2 emissions annually due to fuel consumption.”
Touching on VitrA Karo's sustainability efforts, Hasan Pehlivan said, “Thanks to the improvement work we have carried out on carbon emissions, we have reduced our carbon footprint on a product basis by up to 60% compared to 2018. We have registered this success with our approved Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) documents."
