The group exhibition of Dokuz Eylul University GSF Ceramics and Glass Department’s students was held between 4-17 March 2024 at the Izmir Painting and Sculpture Museum Kulturpark Exhibition Hall.
ASSOC. PROF. M. CANDAN GUNGOR
Traditional student exhibitions were suspended for a while due to reasons such as the pandemic affecting the whole world, the earthquake disaster affecting our country and the relocation of our faculty from 15 July Health and Art Campus to Tinaztepe Campus. After the mandatory break, our students met with art lovers again with the "Studio Tinaztepe" Ceramics and Glass Exhibition, hosted by the Izmir Painting and Sculpture Museum.
The exhibition, curated by Assoc. Prof. A. Temel Koseler and Res. Asist. Fatma Ciftci, consisted of ceramic and glass works of 17 students. The original artistic works produced by each student, in line with the theme they determined, with the gains from four years of education and training, were their first steps towards becoming themselves. The exhibition included contemporary ceramic works inspired by the rich ceramic culture and works interpreting traditional ceramic forms, as well as ceramic works interacting with different art disciplines. Some of the glass sculptures in the exhibition were created by using the modern copper stained glass method to create three-dimensional forms. Another group of glass sculptures was produced using the experimental glass fusion method developed by Lithuanian glass artist Marta Gibiete.
In the exhibition, Works by Akif Zahir Doruk, Arslan Eren Gozuyasli, Arzu Bozkurt Biren, Ayse Elif Bektas, Ayse Gulce Istif, Aysegul Basyigit, Cansu Polat, Delfin Demirgures, Gulnu Koran, Gulter Beyazoglu Akgun, Ilayda Ogur, Ilhan Haytat, Mehmet Alp Ekinci, Melike Dogan, Nagihan Karabulak, Nur Turnalar ve Sedef Demircali were featured.
